Brendan joined Structure Design in March 2014, bringing a diverse range of structural engineering experience from over 12 years practicing in New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific. Brendan has skills in the design of concrete, steel and timber structures that have ranged from commercial buildings to medical facilities, warehouses, liquid retaining structures, power plants and stadia. Seismic risk assessment and retrofitting, peer review, forensic engineering, team leadership, design management, international development, and safety-by-design also feature in his skill set.
Brendan is proud of his involvement in the design of signature projects like the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Otago, and his contribution to building development in the Solomon Islands while working on aid projects (2007-2008). He enjoys rising to a technical challenge with an elegant and innovative solution, and the dynamic process of leading or working in a collaborative design team. Underpinning this, Brendan has a passion for delivering successful projects that help clients to thrive, and ultimately benefit the wider community.
